Hello, I’m Dr. Liana!
Liana Lorenzo-Echeverri, DMFT, LMFT (MT3815)
Hello, my name is Dr. Liana Lorenzo-Echeverri! I am so glad you stopped by! I would like for you to get to know a bit about me so that you may gain a better idea of what type of therapy I do and if you envision us working together towards your goals!
I obtained a Master and Doctorate degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Nova Southeastern University (NSU). I maintain a professional membership with Postpartum Support International. I am also a member of Delta Kappa, the International Marriage and Family Therapy Honor Society.
As a mother of two little ones, working with this population is important to me. Becoming a mother is so fulfilling but can also bring challenges. My passion is working with mommies, mommies-to-be, and new mommies in the postpartum stage adjusting to parenthood. I enjoy working with expecting mothers, providing support for women during the postpartum period and those grieving due to a miscarriage, and helping all mothers navigate motherhood.
During my doctorate program at NSU, I wrote and defended my Applied Clinical Project, Couples Deciding Whether or Not to Have a First Child. Since then I have shifted my focus to work with women that are deciding what is the best fit for them, to have children or not. We work together to facilitate discussions, process how this decision will alter their lives, and how to navigate this new chapter in their lives. Take the time to reflect on their wants, desires and expectations. Deciding whether or not to have children and/or being new parent is a life transition that can bring new challenges. I am here to have discussions and present different perspectives. Together, we find common ground where you can navigate the best decision for you personally. Counseling can provide a safe place to have these discussions individually or with your partner to process and recognize your wants or concerns regarding this huge life decision.
It is so special to work with women of all walks of life and empower them to recognize their full potential. I assist women as young as 18 to achieve their full potential, empowering them to live the life they deserve and wish for. Also, I help my clients navigate life transitions and the challenges that can bring. Being a woman does not mean you constantly have to be superwoman handling everything on your own. I am here to support you in achieving your goals, to believe and be proud of yourself and the world you’ve created for yourself.
My goal is to provide a safe and non-judgmental space to be able to have open conversations for my clients to reach their goals. My intention is to empower and guide my clients to feel heard and understood. Also, I help my clients to discover their strengths and what they are capable of throughout challenges and life transitions.
Hello, I’m Katrina!
Katrina Lorenzo, M.S., LMFT (MT 4164)
Hello, my name is Katrina Lorenzo! I have had the privilege of obtaining a Master in Marriage and Family Therapy from Nova Southeastern University (NSU) in Fort Lauderdale. Throughout my time at NSU, I gained experience working as an intern at the Brief Therapy Institute (BTI) where I worked with adults and couples navigating relationships, stress, and anxiety. In addition, I worked as an intern at the PROMISE program where I worked with children and adolescents providing counseling. It is at these sites where I discovered creating solutions and discovering my clients’ strengths and resources while working towards their preferred futures is my passion.
As a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in the State of Florida, my goal is to collaborate with adolescents and young adults. I enjoy working with my clients while building their self-esteem and helping them in navigating life transitions. Some of these life transitions my clients may find themselves navigating is life after high school, life during and after college, deciding on a career, or even working through relationships with others and themselves.
In addition to working with my clients navigating life transitions, I enjoy working with my clients to learn how to cope and manage stress and anxiety. Through my years as a marriage and family therapist, I have learned and utilized Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) tools and implement them when working with my clients to cope with and manage anxiety.
Another passion of mine is working with clients through trauma. Trauma looks different for every individual. My goal is to validate, respect, and honor my client, their trauma, and experience while paving a way forward. With my guidance, my clients rewrite their stories and take back their power in their story.
My clients are resilient, and I intend on collaborating and helping them by acknowledging their strengths and resources and by introducing skills and tools to add to their "toolbox" as they navigate all that life has to offer them. My hope is to create a safe, non-judgmental, and comfortable environment for my clients.
