At A SPACE FOR CHANGE, we offer services tailored specifically for our clients. We each take pride and have passion for each of our specialties. Whether you are a new mommy navigating motherhood or a recent college graduate deciding what to do with your future, read on to see what fits your needs.

Individual Counseling

  • As individuals, we can come across various transitions and adjustments throughout our lifetime. Preparing for the transition from high school to college or to the work force, adjusting to college life and navigating life after college are transitions and adjustments that may arise. Also, preparing for the upcoming arrival of a child and adjusting to life after the child’s arrival is something that may arise in therapy. Empowering clients to acknowledge their capabilities and discover their passions is part of our work. Experiencing adjustments and transitions is inevitable. In addition to processing, identifying and setting goals, utilizing CBT skills to overcome stress and anxiety that may arise is part of the work we do with our clients. It is how we get through such adjustments and transitions that can define our success.

  • Individuals experience unique relationships daily. There are the relationships with our immediate family which may include parents, siblings, children, grandparents, and extended family which may include aunts, uncles, and cousins, friendships, romantic relationships, academic peers, work colleagues, bosses, mentors, etc. At any given time, we may experience conflict with one or more of these relationships. As a therapist, our role is to help our clients gain different perspectives around these various relationships to gain a better understanding in how to approach them and to have effective conversations. Therefore, having positive experiences with our loved ones and others.

  • As two women that make up A SPACE FOR CHANGE, we strongly believe that uplifting one another and creating a support system is a part of our core. As women, we can be so critical of ourselves in striving to meet societal expectations and perfectionism. Women are capable of so much and more, sometimes we just need others to point out our capabilities to remind us of our full potential.

Maternal Mental Health

  • Motherhood does not mean you have to do it all alone. Support is necessary in life and is especially beneficial during your perinatal and postpartum periods. Being a mother is a beautiful journey. However, with the beautiful moments may come some scary and challenging moments. As mothers we are capable of placing guilt and expectations on ourselves. Experiencing these emotions can sometimes take another perspective to highlight all you are doing for your child and give yourself some credit. In therapy we can work through different ways and create tools to process and work through those emotions.

Women or parents who are grieving due to miscarriage can benefit from a safe place to feel supported and allow the space when they are ready to grieve, process, and honor the memory of their child. As a therapist I meet my clients where they are at and want them to feel comfortable during this challenging time as they work towards healing.

  • Self-care is fundamental for anyone. Though, I make it a priority with my mommies. In order to be present as a mom, it is important to take care of yourself as well as the baby. I work with my clients to create a wellness plan that meets your needs to create a peaceful mindset and atmosphere for you and your baby.
